Why having Defibrillators is a Must in Offices?
There are many different ways of generating electricity to be used by our appliances and other industrial machineries and one of it is through electrical pumps. Our hearts somewhat resembles these electrical pumps for in this case, it is producing electricity for our heart muscles. Every single second, heart muscles are working hard to pump blood that our body needs. However, there are situations to which are heart fails to produce heart beats and this is the time when electrical stimulations are called for. And this is what most people call as cardiac arrest.
Here, the heart fails abruptly and this causes the blood supply to the brain and also, to other parts of our body decreases. For this reason, the victim has high likelihood to die. Believe it or not, a report has revealed that nearly 90 percent of the victims dying from such condition die before they even reach the hospital. The good thing is that, there are AEDs or Automated External Defibrillators which is a big thanks to our modern technology that helps in reducing mortality rates drastically.
The question now is, how do these AEDs work? Basically, its primary function is restoring the normal working condition of our heart. This said electronic device could be put into used even if there is a need for patient to be shock or not. Meaning, the Automated External Defibrillator is discharging electric current and reversing uncoordinated contraction of heart muscles. The best part for using AED is the fact that it has a user friendly design which makes everyone quickly understand the mechanism.
The American Heart Association or AHA is working hard to provide reports that are related to heart conditions of any US professionals who are currently working. According to the reports they have made, roughly 65% of the working professionals have the risk of having cardiovascular disease and even face sudden cardiac arrest. It doesnt matter how much we depend on machine these days because still, the biggest and most important asset of an organization is its human resources. Because of this, it is vital for companies to look after the health condition of their employees.
Just like fire extinguishers thats main purpose is to put out fire, AEDs are now making its way to different businesses. Free medical checkups are frequently organized and all employees receive basic training using AEDs. Not only that, there are lots of governmental agencies and NGOs that are offering AED kits for free!
Our heart is basically like an electric pump and it is hard to tell when it is going to malfunction. But one things for sure, when it does malfunction, the odds of having cardiac arrest significantly increased and having AEDs present can be your life savior.
